Gel Batteries

It's that time of year again - need to replace my battery for my Z1000 A1, has anyone tried the gel batteries - if so, how much are they, any codes on the battery for me to order one and how do they peform.

Hello Paul, Yes we have experimented with different gel batteries but they seem to lack the cold cranking power of the Yuasa batterys, may work on a stock low compression bike but they where not as effective in starting the bikes we are involved in :cry:
The Cold Cranking Performance (CCA) measures the starting performance of the battery. In simple terms, the higher the CCA, the easier it will be to start the vehicle. The CCA of a YB14LA2 is 190, so check the CCA of any other battery before you buy. Regards, Steve
