Does anyone out there know the pitfalls of fitting a GPZ1100 engine into a 1977 Z1000 rolling chassis.
I have recently purchased a Z1000 with the engine in bits. I already have a GPZ1100 engine sitting on the bench of my workshop.
I want to fit this lump in the Z1000 while I take my time rebuilding it's original engine.
I need to find out what problems I may come accross with the electrics, carbs, exhaust and so on.
Can anyone give me any advice and tips.
Thanks guys.

Check out the German sites via the Links section at the top of the page.
If it's a uni-trak motor, you might need to cut down the sprocket cover to get it to clear the frame.I had to do this with a 1000J frame.

you may run in to problems with the engine mounts. the gpz has one rear mount and two at the front, none underneath. i think the z1000 has four mounts i would check this out first
