Another anal type question
can any of you lot remember?

Early pressed alloy rear black/yellow plates

The fittings - were they 2 zinc type nuts & bolts or were the current plastic bolt types used?

I assume they were zinc option as I guess the plastic type would have only come out when when the perspex plates became available around the later part of 1975.
can you enlight?

Though I was still in my pushchair in the 70's, I do recall seeing quite a lot of bikes fitted with slotted panhead M6 screws - BZP finish.

Look more 'suited' to the job than a hexhead bolt:
