Mine seamed to hot waiting at the lights to turn into my home road . And could see a heat haze reflection in the shadow . So was going to take for anther run at weekend weather permitting and the put gun on to see how hot it is

Doesn't sound like a problem if it ran ok and all the pipes are the roughly the same colour if chromed or stainless.
Air cooled motor, stood at the lights = increased heat.
Anything hotter than a fart will produce heat haze.
Engine and pipes will be more than a few hundred degrees at least.
Worrying for nothing.
