Evening all,

Looking for words of wisdom. I am fitting a Dyna 2000 system to my Z1000A2 which Dyna coils should I use 2.2 ohm or 3.00 ohm.

Cheers Padders.

2.2 ohm is the recommended resistance. 3.0 ohm will work, but you will lose a very small amount of spark intensity.

Make sure you get suppression wires or put suppression plug caps on - the RF interference can cause problems with the electronics in the Dyna 2000.

The new Dyna 2000 units are programmable - you can buy a separate kit with Dyna's CurveMaker software and a harness to plug the unit into a serial port on your PC. It's far cheaper to buy the DYna 2000 with the 2.2 ohm coils

Cheers for the advice Jeff, have you any sets of 2.2 ohm coils leads and caps I can buy. I bought the Dyna 2000 secondhand so got a decent deal and it is all there in excellent condition.

Cheers Ian.

Hello Padders, Use the DW600 leads, these are made by Dyna and are leads and caps in 1, also come with fittings to plug into the dyna coils. As Jeff has already replied you can use either DC1-1 or DC4-1, my choice would be the DC4-1, we have both in stock, Regards, Steve

Missed the parcel Friday collected yesterday spot on service. Thanks again Steve and thanks everyone else for the advice, electrics are not my strong point even after 25 years working on bikes.
