Front Brake Light for MOT (Not Z)

				Can anyone enlighten me?
I picked up a reasonable TT500 recently which had a daytime MOT. It had lights but they were disconnected and there was no loom. After replacing the rear light, adding a rear brake switch and making up a new loom, she is ready to go for new MOT. However there is no front brake switch.
Its a 77 bike, and I heard somewhere that pre 86 bikes do not need a front brake light?...
Can anyone give a definite ruling?
Thanks
Rob

Rob
Did you convert the lighting to 12v? I did that on my TT500, but they're still piss-poor.....
Like the old dynamo set on a pushbike - to see where you're going you need revs up, so it was a
Catch 22 situation of keeping a bit of speed up so the lights shone, but they still weren't bright enuff to see anything

Thanks guys, yeah it's running 12v piggy, you can get a regulator for the throbbing light problem.
Also I have a speedo, but it's kph, does it have to be mph?

Incidentally, there is no legality to a "Daylight MOT", but testers can only test what is fitted to the bike.
You can have one of these "Daylight MOT's" and still get busted by the Old Bill for not having a bike that meets construction and use/legal requirements.

That's interesting, and also makes sense.
