Guys has anybody had any experience or issues matching 1.5 ohm Blue Dyna Coils to the standard MK11 exciter setup please ?

appears its a library picture, however to muddy the waters even more FFS the red ones are purported to be 6vso as long as their part number is correct .....DC2-1 I suppose their the correct item, anyway back to the question ....anybody please

the cct diagram has them wired in series so 6v would be correct

You need to remove the Ballast Resistor used with the standard MKII coils.
Been running like this for 3 years with no issues.

thats interesting, I didn't spot the Ballast so upon further investigation low and behold there it is, however when you check the bible the ballast and coil readings add up to 3 ohms in series so your setup is quite legitimate. The blurb states that as the coils are so low resistance the ballast is to limit the current to prevent overheating, its all clever stuff

Clever maybe - but pointless (sic) - why didn't they just leave the ballast out and use the "normal" (for Zeds) 3.0 ohm coils

Best to go for 3 Ohm coils without the ballast resistor because if a 30 year old plus MKII ignition fails at some point then 1.5 Ohm coils are no good for a Dyna S ignition.
Anyway, that was my logic for buying 3 Ohm coils.
