Guyz, just fitting a set of needle jets to some a4 carbs, seem a bit tight to push new ones in even when carbs heated, dont want to force as know the brass in quite soft, pushed the old ones out with with hard wood dowl, was thinking of making a shoulderd pastic or wood dowel to fit new ones?

Try cooling n/jets & plenty of lube  Tap them in square with soft drift - bit of wooden dowel should do. They shouldn't be very tight - may crack zinc carb body :??

If worst happens, I have a spare set for an A4

Paul,

I've used an upturned screwdriver to drive these home, but from experience, they do need to be square...
So freezing & lubing might well be the way forward.

Steve, gonna go with freezing the jets overnight, warming up the bodies in the oven and making a shouldered drift out of plastic or hardwood..Paul

If not already done, make sure the first edge of the jets in are not too sharp as this can plane material off on the way in and stop the jet from going all the way home, i have always rubbed that edge with a bit of 1000 grade to avoid any scraping.

Made a drift out of piece of dowel, turned to fit hole in jet with shoulder to press jet in,good tip about the chamfer, froze jets overnight in tub with wd40,all fitted ok..
