I'm chasing the amount made and if possible distribution of the 1979 Z1000 A3 MkII

Nah it wasn't that one Charlie, it was for total manufactured. By memory it is in the vicinity of 5500 give or take a few hundred.

** Working on the frame numbers and if they were all consecutive then for the 1979 A3A there were 4012 units produced and for the 1980 A4 there were 4002 units. Would that seem reasonable ?
Can't use that principle for engines though due to the cross pollination of engines and models through that period.
