Anybody have any experience with removing chrome from alloy, how too, what to do or not to do, help needed please.

I was speaking to a guy who does chroming a while ago - apparently they 'reverse chrome' stuff first to remove chrome so they can then polish and (I think) then nickel plate before chroming again.

So I guess you could get a chroming shop to just do the first step. I don't know a DIY way - but hopefully someone else will.

I had the peeling chrome removed from my cam cover.

I had a chromer do it chrisu is right they basically reverse chrome it and then they polished it; cost about ?40 well worth it!

No doubt steve smethurst will advise further he is on the links page.
