The "combined unit" is the ONLY way to go.
I'm sure a GPZ550 is the SAME???

These work well
Plug and play but quite expensive.
There are plenty of 3 wire ones out there much cheaper of you don't mind a bit of wiring.

I always buy from Electrex world. They are made in the UK, not sourced from China and have excellent after sales service!

Dittto.... PAULJAC47 reply to you below. Auto- Jumble or Breakers there
plentyful , good n cheap. I used one & used my existing Regulator plug & 2 inch wire tails which I then Crimp connected ( but ensure you use a proper/good crimping tool & heat shrink, as solder is too brittle ) to the H**** wire tails & it then just plugs straight back in again to the other existing Regulator plug & Bob's your Dad's brother !.....................O yeh ,unplug & remove existing Rectifier now as it's now redundant.
Search Forum for the wire colour coding that you'll need to follow ...it's easy ....must be, as I did !!!!!! yours, Forest Gump .

Ralph have you fitted a combined reg/rec to an A1.Electrex don't list one as that is not the standard set up. So wich is the best one to use??? Sean.

I note that Electrex have taken off the combined regulator/rectifier - not sure why as they had it there for so long
Here is what is fitted to my bike - the RR10 is the combined unit
The charging system consists:
Electrex billet RO99 rotor and G90 stator
Electrex combined RR10 regulator/rectifier
I would call them and ask why the RR10 has been taken off the site
