Z1OwnersClub GB

There is a local bloke here who has just bought an Z900 A4 from interstate. He is saying he can get it into first without issue then back up into neutral but it wont go into second at all. He also said it wont go from neutral into second either.
Only thing I can think of is that the selector forks are just at that awkward angle but surely if it goes into first then it wouldnt be that. Suggestions ??

There's nothing wrong with it. It won't go into 2nd unless it's moving. It's called a positive neutral finder .

Shite, I better ask him about that. I just assumed he had been riding it in first trying to get into second......

The 1000's of people that must have been caught out by that over the years

seen this the other day in dave Marsdons engine build book just in time for me putting the gearbox together on my a1 and would have felt a t**t asking the same question lol

It`s like the thing won`t start.iv`e tried everything.Then you point out to them that the kill switch is in off.

And I feel like an ass for not asking him rather than assuming that he was talking about it on the roll......bugger

We've all done it (or similar stuff)..... and it's not an obvious thing to spot.

ive known people take the engine out and strip it down again .
