Just a quicky-
I would have expected valve clearances to increase over time due to wear on cam/shim surfaces?
But some say the clearance reduces, due to valve wearing the seats in tighter?
Which is correct? :p

with engines in good health, the clearances will reduce with wear.

The valve/valve seat wear is greater than the cam/shim wear.

Always set the clearances on the loose side of the range - never leave any set at 2 thou - the next time you check you can be down to zero clearance.
