Just got a 350lc to go wiv my zed. Tank has been sealed with POR15 and for some reason it is peeling off in big lumps (must be poor application cos the stuff is supposed to be good) anyone know how to remove it so I can reseal? Paint is mint so dont want to damage it in the process of removing the sealant.
cheers
John

Might be worth having a word with Frost Auto Restoration. (they sell POR15)
Part of the installation kit is 'marine clean'.
Could this be acetone / nail varnish remover, by another name??

Must have been poor prep, this is the first case I have heard of POR15 lifting. I have used it twice with no issues so don't let this put you off. Marine Clean won't budge it, it'll likely require some evil chemical of some sort. If you re-do it with POR15 be sure not to get it on the paint. My tank has had something like petseal in there from a previous owner which is a bloody nightmare! Peels off easy. Best of luck..

GARN1 deffo POR15 as cofirmed by previous owner who was also surprised as he has used it many times. POR have advised using their strip gel then marine clean amd then metal prep so I will be re applying POR15 as its generally accepted as being the best stuff. Poor prep I reckon by previous owner. Will have to be ultra careful not to trash the paint.
