Ring round your local bike shops, maybe a carb specialist or dyno centre would have an ultra-sonic cleaning tank. Most automotive engineering firms will have them to get metallic parts perfectly cleaned.
The carbs have to be stripped, all jets removed, etc so it is quite a labour intensive process but the results are worth it.
I'm getting some done for "Bling Master" Dale and i'll be down to see him soon in Harlow,so if you don't have any luck locally maybe i can help you out.
What carbs are they??

Ultrasonic cleaners are reasonably cheap to buy, 'seen um on Fleabay for around fifty quid...gotta be worth buying and trying yourself for that sort of money, what's a specialist going to charge? :)

Just make sure they're big enough to be able to take a complete bank of carbs.

I've used a company called 'Carb Exchange' on 01525 371369 based in Leighton Buzzard. They do an excellent job and bring the carb bodies back to just about how they looked when new, ie. a natural 'gun-metal' finish. Some carbs that I've seen end up far too shiny...but still, it depends on what you are looking for. Carb Exchange charge approx ?9 per carb...by the way, don't be put off by the name...they don't actually exchange your carbs for some they already have, it's yours that are chemically cleaned.
Hope this helps.

Ultrasonic cleaning can be good - one caution, all moving parts should be removed from the carbs. If you leave float needles in the seats, the vibrations will damage the seat and needle. You can have the same problem with the needle / needle jets, accelerator pump parts, etc.

Yes. agree Jeff...whatever method of carb cleaning is decided upon, every last piece needs to be removed from the carb bodies.

Cheers BunnyZ,

Didnt ask how long it takes to do,presumed I would drop off and pick up at a later date, will have to find out.
I shouldnt think it takes long to do depending on their workload I didnt fancy posting them what with Xmas looming!
I,m in Reigate which is about 45min from Watford might be able to sort something out to share the travelling, when were you thinking of going?
Are you doing float bowls as well?.

Carb Exchange usually take a week or two. I'm pretty sure they use a courier company if you wanted to have them sent back to you, which I seem to remember cost around a tenner.
I've used this before without any probs.
