i have a hole in the centre section of my exhaust on the tracker project, im not ready to have an exhaust made up yet so im looking at this exhaust wrap that is all the rage on bobbers etc, im reading that it can make things over heat, is this a concern or just over worrying vy some.

Hi Mick, it can cause premature rot due to retaining moisture but that will depend on the material of the exhaust. Any deterioration that does occur is then obviously hidden under the wrap. It's not particularly nice stuff to work with either but for your purposes may suffice for now if temporary.

I wouldn't try to seal a hole with exhaust wrap.
It's a massive bodge and chances are it won't last very long and blow through, better to have someone braze a patch over it or use the old exhaust putty, tin can and jubilee clip fix as a last resort if it's blown on a straight bit.
On another note the exhaust wrap will make the exhaust run hotter which won't do any harm .
It will speed up gas flow and aid scavenging which will actually improve the running.
If the final replacement exhaust is made of stainless steel it will have the same effect.
