Re-torquing Cly Hd?

When I rebuild my A4 earlier in the year, April, I torqued the cylinder head nuts and bolts to 30 ft-lbs and 10 ft-lbs respectively.

Have done around 4K miles since then and have removed the cam cover to check the valve clearances.

Just out of interest I checked a few of the nuts and the end bolts with the torque wrench and found that I could tighten them up?

There are no leaks of any kind so the question is is this normal for these composite head gaskets, rather than the solid copper ones I'm used to on the old brit bikes, used on these bikes? Gasket set came from Z- Power, so should be OK.

Never see anything about re-torquing Jap bike cylinder heads so should I just leave alone or should I do a full re-torquing?

You should have re-torqued after the first heat cycle and then at around 500 miles.
So Yes! you should re-torque.

I have done mine after its first rideout but didn't know about the 2nd time.
