So I've fitted my Mk.II project with a set of Keihin CR 29's and I'm currently working on sorting out a good "base" setting for them but it is a bit tricky as there is a ton of different settings to change and 10 different settings for each.

Anyone that have fitted their Z1000 with the same carbs and feel like sharing what a good base setup would look like?

Needle clip position.
Air screw.

And so on...

Here's where mine were set but you will need to get proper dyno time to get sorted properly.

Needles - middle clip
Mains - 125
Air screw - approx 2.5 turns from fully in.

Started "ok" and picked up well. Ran out of steam at top end but then my motor was highly modded in terms of porting, cams etc. Now run CR33 to get top end.

Very sensitive to cam timing, ignition timing and weather conditions. They dont like the cold!

Thanks. I'll try that as a start and go from there.

Hopefully I'll at least get it rideable then I can start working on the fine-tuning.
