z900A4 Airbox query

#1 PostAuthor: Tonto » Thu Jul 23, 2015 6:38 pm

Chaps, has anyone retro fitted an A1 / A2 airbox to a Z900 ??
I got a bargain 1977 Z1000 airbox off US evilBay: as was informed it will fit straight onto the A4. Its in nice condition and oddly for eBay was a real snip: costing a staggering $49  :D so hope it fits.

But there's a strange appendage / breather on the top front face of the Airbox: dont recall that on the A4 so was simply going to remove and fit a blanking plate - unless I am missing something obvious ???

Looks like it is off a 1979 Z1000 A3 A4. Pipe looks like oit connects to carb breather pipes.

Hi Tonto,I fitted a 1977 1000 A1 air box to my A4 and it fitted ok,just make sure when you fit a new air filter to order the z1000 one as the A4 one is slightly to tall.as I found out.Ade
