More help needed. Currently replacing valve guides, inlets all came out fine and new ones fitted. It seems that the exhaust guides have been replaced in the past (by a previous owner) problem is they almost dropped out and it seems oil has been running down the outside (must have been a complete numpty that last changed them to have enlarged the holes in the process).
Can oversize guides(O/D) be obtained, if so from where?
My machine shop can machine some for me but that will be very expensive, I will do this if no alternative can be found.

Summats gotta go right soon!

Hello John, We can supply these in .004" oversize and then much bigger (.025") if the head really is in a mess, Quite common to have to fit the oversize guides as these heads are now 30 years old, you can only push guides in and out so many times before the hole gets bigger. ?6.65 each www.debben.co.uk

What a life saver Debben 1, I'm chuffed that it can be sorted at a reasonable cost (not as chuffed as 'er indoors' is, we can have a turkey for Xmas now).
My order will soon be winging itself your way- Muchos Gracias Amigo! :D

John-Roscoe, you can buy 0.002" oversize as well as the 0.004" oversize valve guides mentioned above. I noticed them on the Z1 Enterprises Site. You may get away with the smaller size. This could save you machining/reaming out for the larger ones.

Guys, speak with Len Patterson at the cylinderhead shop too.

Provided you have a good fit to start with he fits K-Liners and the heads I've had from him are fantastic. If your guides are loose then that's a different story and different solution as Debben1.
