G'day
I have a set of 2000 r6 forks I am wondering if anyone has used them on their z900. I am building a custom just want to see if this is an ok starting point since I have the forks and wheels?
Any help is appreciated
Cheers Jason

Obviously the length has to be taken into consideration and have you checked the springs are O.K. for the weight of the kawasaki?
Thanks for the reply
The early r6 forks measure 760mm centre of axel to top of fork leg unloaded the standard forks on my A4 measure 765 loaded. I don't know how this stacks up to other common swaps out there. I haven't seen any r6 fork swaps so I question if it is a good option.
Good point re weight I'll do some more research
Any comments on fork length ?
Standard spring rate for 2000 R6 looks like .760 kg/mm
http://racetech.com/ProductSearch/2/Yam ... /1999-2002
Bike weight for same year is 197 kg / 433 lbs
http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/model/ ... 6%2000.htm
Standard spring rate for Z1 900 not listed but should be around 0.6 to 0.7 kg/mm at a guess!!!!!
Weight of Z900 248 kg / 548 lbs

It looks like you may end up with slightly reduced front travel with approx 50lbs more weight on the front than was originally intended for those forks..
