I need to change my battery.
A Z1000J fitment, I've been trying to research the alternatives to a lead acid type.
What are the opinions on Motobatt or any others?
I would like it to fit the standard cradle without any size variance.

Used Motobatt on all my Zeds without problem - fit and forget.

Agree, motobatt very good for zeds & bikes with square battery boxes. I bought one for my FJ1100 however & it wouldnt fit because the battery box has a large radius in the bottom corners that prevented the battery sitting down fully.

Using a motobatt in my Z1300 and Z900 sealed battery means no acid on your exhaust

+1 for Motobatt Chris. Bit pricier but plenty of oomph and they last.
