carb balancing

#1 PostAuthor: knut » Mon Jan 21, 2008 8:27 pm

hi guys ,looking for some help adjusting slides on my kz900 (26mm).i was using a piece of cooper wire approx 1.5 mm under the slides as a gauge but i,m unsure of the correct procedure with the lock nut and screw and the second nut next to it,cos the slide gap keeps changing when i do the next carb.i know i,ll be kicking my self it,s probably that easy :!: my haynes manual doesn,t cover these carbs (3 screws on cover).
any help much appreciated guys
what,s there to say except we,re all mad on here.

you really only want to use the wire trick as a starter to get them approx right. You really need to use vacuum gauges or similar to balance them properly.

I've got a Morgan Carbtune (made in NI) and its a doddle to use.
