Fitting Ikon shocks

The Ikon shocks supplied for the 900's have an offset lower eye lugs? Does that not mean that you have to pack the top eye out by a similar amount?
No relevant fitting instructions are provided or anything to offset the top lug or do you just fit with the lop lug eye up against the frame as the original units were?
Logic tends to say that if the bottom is offset the same needs to be done to the top or they are not going to be fitted parallel?
I take it they are offset because the shocks are wider that the std ones?
