GPz1100B1 fork tube repair

#1 PostAuthor: mattc » Sat May 23, 2015 2:17 pm

Long shot...but has anyone managed to remove and replace the oil check valve parts that are pressed into the bottom inside of the fork tubes on J's and B's.?

I was taking a set apart recently (bought some time ago on flea bay) and I had an issue where the alloy piece (that goes over the bottom of the damping rod and clamps against the inside bottom fork leg) had seized onto the damping rod and hence I could not get the bloody thing apart. No way to get at any of the parts, so a few good pulls later and the firking cast check valve ring fell to bits...ouch....

If there is no way to replace these then I will be looking for another tube (or two if no one has a single one knocking around).

Appreciate any insights.
