tacho red line

#1 PostAuthor: z2.john » Sat Jan 19, 2008 10:55 am

When did the Tacho red line change from 9-12 to 8-1/2- 11 RPM?
Was it Z1000-A1 to A2? What is the part number of the later tacho?
Cheers guys.

Good question

Anything to do with nos tacho for sale as been wondering the same?

Definatly not the UK 1000A1 as this started at 9 - think it may be the Ltd. that went in at 8.5 or may be the USA KZ1000 A1/A2?

Will be interested to see what the technical historians have to say

I always thought that the 8.5-11K tacho was for the Z650, certainly not any of the 900's or Z1000-A1. Don't recall what an A2 had though but suspect its the same as 900's.

Had a tacho on my Z1B that red lined at 8.5k, not original, I was told by previous owner it came from US model 1000A2. Now have correct tacho fitted.
