One of our flock was wondering if the early type velcro fastning repro bags you see on ebay are correct, here we have some images that show that they are not quite exact
First of all the 3 types very early velcro far right, follwed later 2 popper on the right, then the 1 popper
the repro one on the top with original below
my pen points out some differances shuch as the position of the velcro strip and plastic welding seams
Then the tools, this is the early Z1 kit with a crest on the tools like the one seen on the screwdriver handle (rare to find a gold crest one)
and heres the later kit z900/z1000 and the crest has been replaced by the the big "K" logo
Hope this help

Excellent work Holmes. Now let's hope that's the last time these cheap Chinese repros threaten all we hold dear.

Good work Bedlow. Very informative. Did they ever make a canvas tool bag? Seems to me I have seen one, maybe not the Z1.
I have seen many with the "K" embossed spanners etc., I'll look a little more closely in future! Maybe I'll find the elusive gold-creasted screw driver.
You know what you have started now..... More madness on E-bay!

Gold Crest..... sounds like a Willy Wonka adventure
Can't see wot all the fuss is over some naff tools that would struggle to get you out of a fix
Not a ring spanner in sight
All in the name of originality I suppose, so good on you, if you must

Bedlow,
You didn't mention in your post about a small pouch in the back of the original toolbag to slip in the feeler gauge. I have a 73' toolbag just like the one in your first picture with this feeler gauge pouch. I haven't seen a repro bag. Does the repro one have this pouch?

hi ir35
the repro bag does have the feeler gauge pouch on the back, and its location and apperance is correct.
Thanks for pointing that out.

Crickey I forgot all about that, I need to see if they're still on my external hard disc. Wait a mo.
