Going to remove my auto cam chain tensioner tomorrow. Is it a matter of just undoing the 2 bolts or is there more to it. I want to clean it and make sure it is working properly as i have a rattle. Thanks

Yes, it is as simple as that. Have you tried adjusting the tension?

Didnt know you could adjust the auto ones i thought they did it themselves.

I read somewhere you had to rotate the motor to the 1-4 T mark before removing.

Just avoid turning engine over without a tensioner :!:

1-4T mark if you remove tthe camshafts and resetting valve timing.

Just slacken the slide bolt on the tensioner body to allow the spring loaded tensioner to take up the chain slack. Nip the bolt and lock nut to hold the new position.
