Hi All, as in title, I changed the front bearings and when I went for a spin to check everything was ok, the speedo was showing half speed, or there abouts. So back home, took the wheel off to make sure I hadn't missed anything, all seemed fine. Back out and it seemed to work for about 2 miles then went weird again. By the time I got home it was hardly reading anything? It's an electronic drive. Any ideas?
Cheers Wullie

If its still clocking up miles accurately on the odometer its not a fault with the speedo drive unit.
The whole set-up is massively and unnecessarily complicated and more than a little frail.
The factory manual has a comprehensive test proceedure for the array and if you follow it you will find the fault.
The speedo head is not re-buildable and has a chip in it which fails.
The drive units on the wheel usually break the wires off just where they enter the casing stub.
The three pin plug in the h/light usually burns out.

Thanks Al, that gives me plenty to work on! Hopefully I'll get time to have a look at it this week. I'll let you know how I get on.
