Guys
Started the bike floods of fuel out the air box and out the carb breather tubes.
Took off the float bowls and 2 stuck floats. Cleaned everything out of the carbs put all back together with fresh fuel.
Bike is running good on all 4 cylinders now and no more fuel leaking from air box. Changed oil as full of fuel.
Problems is i heard a hissing sound coming from tank. (pressure)
Shut off engine opened cap and hot air came out. Finger in tank and lotta heat inside it.
Oil window misted up as well.
Any ideas why after cleaning out carbs is this now happening.
Is there a vent on the fuel cap and or vent line ? z1000j bodywork
appreciate any suggestions.
Gona check all the lines for blockages tomorrow.

Oil window will be misted / creamy until it gets a good run.
Nothing to worry about. Its condensation.
If you left the bike running for a few mins and then shut it off, heat rising from the engine will heat the tank and volatilise the fuel.
Yes there is a vent in the cap but if like mine it is an after market one, the mechanism for venting is inferior and leads to pressure and bleeding of vapour which condenses out on the cap and runs over as a slight weep!!

It's a great shame that I had to sell that bike in the first place
'Spen' did absolutely nothing with that bike, apart from try to make a few quid on it which I was not best pleased with.
But due to blowing the Saxon up and having to have the forged turbo pistons made from scratch, it cost me a lot of money to put right, so the ELR Rep had to go.
That bike was running absolutely spot on when I had to let go of it, I don't understand why people don't drain the damn fuel tank and carbs if they don't intend to use it? The additives in fuels today can cause all sorts of problems with regards to seals etc.
Just for your reference, it has a GPz1100B1 engine fitted, perfect standard bores and pistons, new genuine Kawasaki rings, APE valve stem seals, Uni-trak cams, carb conversion, Dyna-S ignition.
I hope you get it fully sorted and thoroughly enjoy it.
Sounds awesome doesn't it

hi mate yep just about there with it feckin dam carbs. Sore neck and back
lying under bike. Got all the jets etc out and ultrasonically cleaned.
had to clean out air box and filter as well, 2 small insects in the airbox
and some cobwebs bloody hell. cuda got into carbs.
Took it for a quick blast around the block and it pulls really well.
Idling great, no more fuel leaks. Sounds bloody awesome.
Bled front brake as was soft.
Oil spitting out of where headers go into engine.
So ordered new chrome alloy clamps,
gaskets and 8 collets from german ebay.
Small oil leak from cam gasket so ordered rubber cometic one.
Really impressed with bike, might have to change rearsets see if
i can get used to them.
All in all very happy with bike, nearly mot ready.
