I have had running problems with number 3 carb from the start, first off the pilot jet has been rounded off by the previous owner, second, carb to engine rubber was loose so sucking air, then I put on 4 new rubbers and number 3`s was faulty, then today I started it up and it was intermittent on 3, swapped plug with four and it moved over, the plug only seemed to work with the plug cap over an inch away from it, I`ve been told recently that they make NGK`s in france and that they are crap.

So hopefully with new plugs I will be at an end with it. :)

I've had exactly the same grief with my US Z1B. After swopping plugs around and swearing a lot, have now thrown the NGK's in the bin and have ordered some Denso's from spark plugs.co.uk.

Hopefully this will sort it out !!

Irridium plugs were originally intended to extend service intervals as far as i know.
They will foul or whet, exactly the same as copper types but of course will be more expensive in doing so.
They wont cure any mixture or running difficulties and these will remain in the background to trip you up if not addressed.

Just had a bit of this myself, bike would run and then not at all.
Put dirty old plugs back in and perfect running.
Eventually drained the tank and took out about a fivers worth of petrol.
About £1,50 of it was tiny black water droplets!!!
Not seen the like of it before.

Well today I`ve fitted new NGK`s as I had already ordered them from a mate and the Denso`s had not turned up, on start up number 3 is still lazy on firing then after about a minute it starts firing, then after that its ok, stop it for 20 minutes and its still ok, leave it for a day and it starts up on 1, 2 and 4 and 3 kicks in after about a minute again, this has happened 3 days in a row.
Anybody got any ideas or a cure :??

Do you have a good spark on 3? Is the plug getting wet when you try to start her up?

once its running on 3 you pull the cap off and the engines rev falls, its just on initial start up, once it cuts in , I`ve had it running for 10 mins no problems. :??
