Cleaning calipers

Is it OK to have my A4 calipers vapor cleaned prior to re-spraying?

There is a bit of corrosion at the entrance to the piston cylinder aperture, where the dust boot retaining ring fits, which need cleaning. Is that OK or does that whole area need to be masked and protected?

Do you mean vapour blasted.
I presume the calipers are split and stripped bare and if that is the case then the piston bore needs masking off.
If the firm doing the blasting is any good they will know where to mask.

Yes I do mean Vapor blasting, glass beads in water. They are A4 calipers, which are the non splitting type.

Everything have been removed, so just the bare castings.

There is some corrosion in the piston seal o-ring groove and the machined step at the front that the dust cover retaining ring is pressed into which need to be cleaned. Was hoping that this can be done with the vapor blasting?
