I am refurbing some z1000 28mm carbs and need to replace the needle jets (the bit that has lots of little holes in and what the main jet screws into) any ideas where I can get some from

Sounds like you are describing the emulsifacation tubes, the needle jet screws into the bottom of these, not usual for these to fail, just a matter of careful cleaning ideally in an ultrasonic cleaner..

Yep they are the ones. Looks like someone has over tightened them, cause they are all buckled.[/i]

looked at these, they look like the ones from the 26mm carbs. The ones I am after have more holes in them. 3 rows of five holes. I will attempt to post a picture

To be honest I dont know what difference it would make. The ones you have have less holes but are bigger diameter than mine so would probably allow the same amount of volume through. To be on the safe side I will keep searching for the 5 hole ones.
Been speaking to allensperformance but he cannot help me unless I can supply him with the code number which is stamped on the tube. Ive never seen a number on any of the ones Ive handled so as a last resource I can send him one as a sample to match up. Thanks for taking time to search some out

is the carb body ok? there has been some serious force put on those to do that damage i am surprised it didn't break the casting or push the other needle jet through the base of the carb
