fuel tap thread

Hi, the thread on the boss that the fuel tap attaches to is damaged and i need to repair the thread using either a die or an old nut. The thread is m22 x 1.0mm, so I am having trouble getting a die to do the job. Ideally, I am after a replacement nut( 51035009), but it seems that you can only get a complete fuel tap. Does anyone know of a nut with the required thread or where I can get a individual genuine nut from.
Cheers Rob

Would it be easier to clean it up with a thread file?
They can sometimes be an advantage where a die cannot be 'squared' onto the existing thread.
Chose this picture as it shows it in use.
Once bought it will be around forever and it does not limit itself to one diameter of thread like a die because it registers with a thread 'pitch' rather than diameter.
Each file will have eight different pitches and if used carefully can get you out of all sorts of trouble!!

Al, I thought of the thread tool, but the damaged side is adjacent to the tank seam, so it maybe to small a gap for it to fit in.
The nut does have left and right thread on it.
I am sure there must be a nut (clutch/spindle) that has the same thread. I did find that a cbr600 clutch nut is the same, but I don't want to just buy loads of stuff
