Alternator

The battery on my Z1000 is not charging properly. I suspect it is the alternator for which the output is only 5V AC on one pair of leads and about 16V AC on the other two. It is the later type with rotor on the outside. Any ideas if it is likely to be the stator or rotor and are they available?

you should have about 50v ac at 4.000rpm if one phase is lower it is more than likely the stator windings pretty common on the j type engine you can get a pattern replacement from electrex word

Check the rotor has not come loose and is spinning on the shaft common prob on thou,s, also check has not lost magnetism.

I will check rotor but I think it is more likely the stator so will try electrex world.
Many thanks for help.
