Amir does this help ?
http://www.wherethepoweris.com/oempartf ... haft_(1979)/KICKSTARTER_MECHANISM/KZ1000-E1-1979/070082B-13
if the link just brings up the search page navigate about until you find the kickstarter mechanism and it shows the bracket fitting onto a small lug on the frame
like this

If I remember rightly, the foot end goes in first and then you twist it 90 degrees to the left. It is awkward, I remember that much! And the wingnut/bolt clamps it down onto the bracket at the other end. I don't have pics sorry. Must be some ST owners who can shed more light on it.

I received this reply earlier this evening
Peter Z-Club Germany It is not behind the side panel but lies across the plastic part behind / underneath the air filter. I still have mine original and try to make a picture of it.

Out of curiosity, was this fitted to all ST models! My 79' has a std. kickstart lever in place, which is good, as I've a duff e/starter at the moment!
Cheers

Yes Aztec, it was factory fitted. It's not a folding one though. They show up on ebay now and then.

Sounds like it's missing on mine then. I wondered what the bracket was by the ballast resistor, now I know. Was this a weak spot or something. I've never heard of bikes with factory fitted spare k/s levers.
