If you don't mind an H2B Query

Help :D
A mate asked me to rebuild an old set of H2B forks and I think there's something wrong and maybe been like it for years.
Ive attached two images, the first shows the forks as I stripped them and the unusual thing is that the short spring was sitting directly beneath the long spring and not as I think it should have been on the damper rod & there is no damper unit on the end of the rod just the cone bit. The valve, collar & spring are correctly positioned and retained in the end of the fork tube as per normal. The second image shows a typical damper rod, not from this model, however, you can clearly see the damper unit on the end after the short spring.
I assembled one of the forks as it came apart and under compression you def can't hear any of the swishing noise you normally hear.
Any ideas? :?:

Here's the contents of an H2B fork. You're right you look to have everything you need it's just a bit like Eric Morecambe's piano playing Not necessarily in the right order :D

Bykerboy😄😄😄
Thanks for the image. That now also explains why the Steel tube fitted to mine is 2" or so shorter than yours.

I'll be in the Engineering stores in the morning.
Could you tell me how long your spring is & Steel tube? My spring is approx 340mm.

Cheers Mike

Springs should be 345mm with a service limit of 335mm
The spacer should be 115mm

Here's the rest of the fork specs that you'll need.
