Can anyone give me a bit of advice, I am fitting genuine Kawasaki alloys to a Z1000A1 [or at least trying] the front wheel goes in no problem, the rear doesn't can anyone tell me what the spacer sizes I need. I have tried a Z1B sprocket carrier on the alloy wheel and it seems the right size but the spacer is obviously too big. Can I use the Z1 carrier and get the spacer machined or do I need a different sprocket carrier. I assume I can use a Z1R cush drive rubber. Any advice will be gratefully received. Thanks. Sean.

Do you know which MAG wheels you have. IE are they Z1R wheels, or Z1000 MkII. Which ever they are you will need to use the sprocket carrier which matches the wheel. The Z1R sprocket carrier is wider than a Z1000A2.

Thanks, Adrian that does help. I now think I know which cush drive I need but does anyone know which spacers I need or the dimensions. If anyone has any spacers they want to sell I will gladly buy them off you. Thanks. Sean.

Taken from Partzilla.com
Swing arm is the same on Z1000 A1, A2, A3 (Z1000 Mark II), and A4 (Z1000 Mark II)
Spocket side spacer / collar - Kawasaki part number 42032-071 is used on these models and components:
1977 KZ1000-A1 KZ1000 REAR HUB-CHAIN ('77-'78 A1-A2-A2A)
1978 KZ1000-A2 KZ1000 REAR HUB-CHAIN ('77-'78 A1-A2-A2A)
1978 KZ1000-D1 Z1R REAR WHEEL-TIRE-HUB-CHAIN ('78 D1)
1979 KZ1000-A3 KZ1000 REAR WHEEL-TIRE-HUB-CHAIN ('79-'80 A3-A3
1980 KZ1000-A4 KZ1000 REAR WHEEL-TIRE-HUB-CHAIN ('79-'80 A3-A3
1980 KZ1000-D3 Z1R REAR WHEEL-TIRE-HUB-CHAIN ('80 D3)
Disc side spacer / collar 42032-070 COLLAR,REAR AXLE is used on these models and components:
1977 KZ1000-A1 KZ1000 REAR HUB-CHAIN ('77-'78 A1-A2-A2A)
1978 KZ1000-A2 KZ1000 REAR HUB-CHAIN ('77-'78 A1-A2-A2A)
1978 KZ1000-A2A KZ1000 REAR HUB-CHAIN ('77-'78 A1-A2-A2A)
1979 KZ1000-A3 KZ1000 REAR HUB-CHAIN ('77-'78 A1-A2-A2A)
1979 KZ1000-A3A KZ1000 REAR HUB-CHAIN ('77-'78 A1-A2-A2A)
1980 KZ1000-A4 KZ1000 REAR HUB-CHAIN ('77-'78 A1-A2-A2A)
So should be able to use both the spacers/ collars off your Z1000 A1. The only part you will need is a Z1000 Mark II sprocket carrier.

Glad to help. It is good to know which parts are inter changeable between models. What I found odd, was the fact that the Z1R sprocket carrier I have is different than a Z1000 Mark II.
