Just putting the final touches on a Z1A I have for sale soon.
Struck a problem with oil light not coming on when ignition on (with fully charged battery)

Checked out when I earth the wire to the switch and light goes on!
Replaced pressure unit.... Hard to get to with carbs on!
......same problem.

Checked continuity of unit and seems just OK.
I reasoned there must be a smear of grease or something insulating the inside of the pressure switch mounting casting from the small thin plate at the bottom of the pressure switch unit.

I'm thinking of putting a small washer under the plate to give more force between the contact points. Press switch/ casting mtg......Any comments welcomed.

i've also had a problem where the switch housing was anodised and that stopped it making a connection.

Thanks guys, put a small 4mm washer in and all is working.
Z1Bman, do you have the date and bulletin #. It would be handy to see what Kawasaki say. I have seen the bulletin where they want a bigger hole drilled in the pressure sensor plate.
