Hi,
I've recently imported a very nice Z1-A from Denver. Seeing as the altitude is around a mile above sea level I was wondering whether the carbs would need adjustment / different jets & needles?
If anyone out there has come across a similar scenario I'd be grateful for any info.
Cheers,
Gareth

Hi Gareth,
According to my manual the standard jet sizes for your
bike are. Main 112.5, Pilot 20, Needle P.8 (#3 notch).
To begin with I would check whats in your bike against
the above and take it from there.
You didn't mention what exhaust and air filters your bike has.
Are they standard or have they been changed.
If they are non-standard then the standard jetting will probably have been changed to suit.
You can also try the following URL for more detailed parts
info, it will also tell you standard jet sizes for all
the model variants.

Thanks for your response Rob,
Indeed since I posted the question I found out the standard carb specs so the next step will be as you suggest; to see what's currently in them.
The exhausts are original (and I mean THE original!) 4 into 4s and it looks like a K&N type filter is in the airbox which I'm going to assume will have the same characteristics as an OEM item. I also own a UK Z1B which is all standard too so will try swapping the air filter out of that one if I can't get the right results after "fiddling". I'm reckoning on just having to alter the mixture settings rather than changing jets etc (I hope!).
Cheers,
Gareth
