Smoke on startup.

Z1b that's been standing for a few years, recently got it back on the road but on start up 1&2 smoke real bad.

I'm pretty sure it's oil rather than fuel and it clears within about half a mile and stays clear until next ride.

I was thinking valve stem seals as I guess if worn bores/stuck rings it would do it all the time.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

it wont damage the motor as long as you keep your eye on the oil level. its not a big job but you will need a valve spring compressor

I'd say valve stem oil seals too.

The only problem I'd say is (depending on the exhaust) blueing of headers on 1 and 2.

Standards, I'll keep an eye on them.

I may look into it over winter as the rest is pretty tidy so would like to get it as good as possible.

Thanks again.

Double skinned headers will be OK.

Viton seals and less than a days labour to do it.
