Anyone post any links to paintrtipper that works unlike the mamby pamby eu approved stuff that most places sell these days, or tell me what the active ingredient that makes the difference is?

Magic ingredient was Dichloromethane, or Methylene Chloride if you're American.

I dumped a load of it in a drum along with some other solvents when I rebuilt my Rover. I dropped a load of stuff in there over the few years I was working on it, and they came out clean as a whistle.

Don't leave aluminium in it though - reacts a bit :shock:

We use this stuff at work to strip cars etc.
Have used it for bike stuff successfully.
It burns youre hands badly, makes youre eyes water, and gives you a stinking headache just like in the good old days. :D :D :D :D

This will strip paint I used it on my engine to take the paint off my mag wheels

Just to let you know I got some on my works safety glasses, it actually etched them

Thanks for these pointers, even though I wasn't the original poster. I've been looking for something that works, modern Nitromors is useless stuff, better off having a curry and weeing on your parts.

Dichloromethane also removes powder coating. It just peals off :D

+1 for this, but still not quite as good as the old polycel one.

Steve Google "aircraft paint stripper ". Cant remember what its called but it available in small quantities but it aint cheap
