`77 Kawasaki Z1000 A1 Speedo drive / cable thread size

Chaps, I'm at work and currently machining a threaded blanking piece for my 1977 Kawasaki Z1000 A1 project bike...I haven't ridden the bike in today so can't take a measurement....please could someone tell me the thread size on the speedo drive (at the wheel spindle) that you screw the speedo cable onto?...I took some measurements but now I'm beginning to doubt them...I think it should be M10 X 1.25.
