Hi guys

Can anyone tell me if the front end / yokes from a ZX6 or ZX9 will fit Z900-1000? I know the front from GSXR will fit, but I'll prefer to use Kawa-parts.
If the ZX-parts don't fit, is there any other options for good fronts?

The RWU (right way up) front ends from the ZZR600/1100 or the ZXR750 models are also worth looking at.Also the ZRX 1100/1200 models.
The main problem with the later USD front ends is they usually have shorter fork legs, which can lead to ground clearance problems.
There is thread elsewhere on here about different front ends,I think maybe in the discussion part??

want ever you fit the best way is to press the standard stem out and sleeve it back into the new yoke, so you can use the standard bearings, but like jack says length is everything (or so my wife says)

Look at the thread I started called what to do with new wheels loads of the guys have contributed and i will add some more stuff soon, as I have been doing lots of digging around.
In Nutshell though zrx11 forks are the same length to the spindle as z1000a1 forks, The stem looks narrow enougth to fite but is about 15mm longer. (could not get the stem out to check on the zrx I waa looking at.)

I would go the zrx route if you can get some.(I have not looked at 9c1's etc so that could be an option for rwu)

The pressing the stem out solution sounds easy but if you are using USD I have some 7r ones the top yoke is thicker and the z1000 spindle not long enough to cope with the thickness.

If you want USD FORKS ZX9B are an inch longer than 7r forks but still too short to restore the ride height. But Maxton engineering will extend revalve to suit your weight etc for about ?480.

I know of a z1000 with zzr 43mm rwu forks running 17" rims front and rear, with about 1/2 offset top yoke, (IZAX Engineering do offset yokes) and having checked the ride height to the engine cases against my std 1000 it is less than 10mm lower.!!

Bear in mind though thicker forks allow less steering lock, so if you have yokes made you could change the offset a bit to ersore your steering lock, but will alter the trail angle etc.
Life's a compromise! (or so the wife tells me!)
