Thought I would try the B&Q BBQ spray paint on my engine.... Amazing results, looks really good. :D
Question is, has anyone tried it on an exhaust?
I am having my kerker pipe dechromed and want to paint it black.
I have tried pj1 and various others before but the finish tends to be too Matt. I would prefer a more satin finish like the BBQ paint....
Any other suggestions welcome....
Thanks

Rob i've got B&Q Bar-B-Q black on the exhaust on the J.
It is flat black due to the heat, i think it was satin on the tin though.
That said it clings on there better than PJ1 and powder coat black both of which i tried and both were satin. Both fell off fairly quickly.
Tried VHT recently as well but cant remember the finish.
For the reason above, it is no longer there and think it was the least survived of all options.

That does read a little odd.

Powder coating returned to its elemental powder and simply fell or rubbed off like dust.

PJ1 is more like a dye than a paint and it was not thick enough to stop water getting through and rust lifted it off in the main but also water jetting off the front tyre finally put an end to it.

VHT was good but again did not last so well and was probably the worst of the bunch.

The B&Q stuff is called BBQ Plasti-Kote (GRILL AND BARBECUE)
Unlike what i said above it does not say on the tin what the gloss level is (gloss, satin or flat matt) but it goes on satin and soon become matt on the headers.
This stuff seems to be the best of the bunch.
It has also looked the best for the longest too.
