I have a situation where if i turn the ignition on, my 20amp fuse blows instantly unless i leave the kill switch in the OFF position, then its fine. If i take the R/H switchgear off the bars, i can start the bike---- no probs.
I recently done some work on coils and headlight, so i may have disturbed something. My trouble is im hopeless withh electrics. What next?

The kill switch is earthing out on the bars - check the wiring - it'll be dodgy

probably wires squashed between bars & switch casing

Tommy,
Check the wires that come from the kill switch.
There must be a wire that is earthing against the handle bars when you are fitting the switch gear on.

i did avalook inside the swichgear and it was a bit grotty: cleaned up wot i could get at. wires and soldering looked good. I`ll have alook again tmrw.
Oh... I replaced the frayed neg earth lead from batt to engine with the 9inch Halfords item the other day: slightly thicker. Shouldn`t be a problem should it?
Thanks boys
