Replacing swing arm bushings/inserts. Can you help?

Are there any tricks to doing it or things to be avoided?. I'm going to remove the swing arm, hold it in a vice and drive the bushes out from the opposite side using a round steel rod. Then leave the arm in the sun (I'm an optimist) and remove the bushes from the freezer and press them in using a bench vice. What could go wrong? Thanks, TC

Not done the bushes but on the J recently (caged needle rollers and plain internal sleeves) i just used the spindle and nut and a stack of washers to pull them in straight with a little grease, cold.

I done mine on a uni-trak , with threaded bar and cut some old bar end weights uo to the correct size , it worked a treat that was putting them in , getting them out i used extra long punch set whichi,got it from machine mart .then just keep hitting the old bearing as evenly as you can , they normally end up in little bits ! just try not to mark the s/arm to much ?
