mystery part

Hi,
I have a part here, presumably for my KZ1000, it was in with my gear selector parts bin, but for the lights of me, cant think what or if it is from my z1000... it a collet and measured 18mm O.D...X 12MM O.D..X 15MM WIDE..

Haven't got one to hand to measure but it's most likely an Overshift bush.

That makes sense, that would explain why it is in the gear selector bin, and not a standard part.. I came across this...

Think it stops you accidently changing up two gears , mainly used for drag racing :roll:

The overshift bush prevents the gear selector arm from jumping off the drum for positive gear changes (avoids missed gears) during aggressive shifts.
It is mostly of use when an air shifter is fitted.
Probably not needed during foot changes but won't do any harm being in there.
