i am setting up my 26mm carbs for a mac 4:1 exhaust... I went up 1 size on main jets and pilot jets : N100.604 #117.5 main jet x4 VM28/486 #20 pilot jet x4...

There is plent of ooomph at high revs but idling is still a bit of a problem...I am out 2 turns on the air screws before it ticks over ok and it is slow coming down thru the revs to idle...should I go up another size on the pilot jets...??

Not expensive from motocarb.co.uk ..

any ideas?

thanks...

Did you try with standard jets before you changed jetting? did the bike hang up before? hanging is usually drawing air in through carb to head rubbers, tighten em up and make sure no air being drawn in,are they supple or old and hard? yry spaying some wd40 around area to see if makes diff..

... I have good seals on the carbs and yes they did hang up b4 on the 17.5 pilot jets but i will try them again and see if they're better. I have always just gone up 1 size when fitting 4:1 exhaust systems b4 and never had any bother...I have ordered a set of 22.5's from motocarb now and will try them too... Never had this issue b4...

thanks....
