Bridgestone Battlax BT45s are a very good tyre choice Ed.
A matching set to tyres front and back is always the best.

Alot of people say its best to stick with a ribbed front tyre, like the old 'crossply' type thing fitted as standard, as the bike will track better and not suffer from front end wandering/vagueness! obviously choice is a bit limited being 19".

Pigford talking of tyres I found it extremely difficult to get a siutable tyre for my A4 last week
I eventually sourced one for a hundred and twenty quid

In recent years I've used the Avon Roadrunners, AM22/23. Good all round tyres, and last well. Tyre choice can be a bit personal though,Ed, as shown by all the different selections above.
